The safety plan is submitted to state and local officials each year so that they are aware of our procedures and other important factors (layout of the building, contact information, emergency response, communication plan). The plan is updated each year before being approved by the school board and being submitted. Plans have been created with advice from Greece Police and in cooperation with Young Women’s College Prep and teachers are trained each year. The Number 1 priority for DCS is to keep your children safe.
Functional annexes focus on the critical operational functions and courses of action developed to carry them out.
Shelter in Place Plan will be initiated when school is in session and a situation occurs for which the School Director determines that staying in the school building is safer than being outdoors. The Off-Site Sheltering Plan will be activated as part of the Evacuation Plan when the School Director determines that the cause of an evacuation warrants off-site sheltering of students.
