DCS first grader NyZiria Simmons was honored at the Rochester Police Department for Doing the Right Thing.
She was nominated for helping a kindergarten student that was being bullied by older children in the school bus. She walked the younger student into his class and reported the incident to the school counselor.
Her whole class, plus her teachers and counselor, and the school director attended the ceremony.
