Discovery students held a silent auction of their own art work to raise funds to benefit a school in the rural village of Mayen-Abun, in the South of Sudan.
Third graders created art pieces by glueing crayons to canvas and then they used a hair dryer to melt them, creating explosions of drippy crayon colors which formed very unique designs.
At the end of the auction, attended by parents, relatives and friends, DCS third graders had raised over $900 (nine hundred) to help build letrines at a school that is being built in the African country by the organization “Building Minds in Sudan”.
