Discovery Charter School has welcomed a new member to the Board of Trustees.

Olivia West is co-founder and president of West Advisory Group, which, among other areas of expertise, specializes in financial literacy initiatives.  West Advisory Group collaborates with a wide array of public schools, colleges, churches and other groups to inform about personal finance, to include the Rochester City School District, University of Buffalo, St. Lawrence University, LeMoyne College, the University of Rochester, and Rochester Institute of Technology.

Ms. West previously provided instruction on financial literacy to organizations such as Wegmans Work Scholarship Connection and Junior Achievement, providing a high level of expertise to students involved in those programs.

Her community involvement includes a long-list of project-based initiatives, most recently, Fight Cancer with Camren, Chair of a Homeless Christmas Party, and Chair of the Strong Museum Free Admissions and Book Bag Giveaway.
