Hi, my name is Emma Hartzell and I teach fourth grade at Discovery Charter School. I completed my undergraduate degree at Elmira College, and I completed my graduate work at St. John Fisher College. Before coming to DCS, I worked for the Center for Youth and Rochester City School District for five years, and I was with AmeriCorps for two years.

My hobbies include yoga, knitting, aerial arts, riding my bike, crafting, meditation, nature, traveling, meeting new people, and rock climbing!

I fun fact about me is that I am a vegetarian and I love to cook! I have been to five countries- Canada, Greece, France, England, and the Bahamas…. and will soon be adding three more countries to that list- Germany, Switzerland, and Croatia!
