Hi, my name is Kristen Nowakowski, and I am the School Social Worker at Discovery Charter School. I have my B.A. in Psychology, and my Master’s in Social Work. I am also a NYS licensed social worker.

I have experience working with kids and families in foster care, probation, family court, and educational advocacy throughout Monroe County. I have been certified in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for 14 years, have served as a Dignity for All Students Act Coordinator, McKinney Vento Liaison, supervisor of Primary Project at DCS, Coordinator of the Check in Check out program (HUGs), member of the Response to Intervention team, and co-chair of the Social Emotional Learning Department.

I love spending time with my family and friends, cooking, working out at the Rochester Athletic Club, and spending time outdoors!

A fun fact about me is that I am a certified indoor cycling instructor!
