Ms. Castner grew up and still lives with her family 30 minutes south of Rochester. Ms. Castner has taught grades pre-k through 12th general and special education. Ms. Castner has acted as an academic coach and/or a special education teacher at Head Start, Dansville Central, BOCES, Mary Cariola, RCSD, and Genesee Community Charter School. Ms. Castner started her career at Discovery as an Intervention teacher and consultant special education teacher and then moved in to the role of the Primary Dean. After being the Dean for two years Ms Castner has started her first year as Assistant Director and RtI Coach the 2016-17 school year.
Ms Castner holds an undergraduate degree in childhood and special education from St John Fisher College; a Master’s Degree in Advanced Special Education from Grand Canyon University, and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from SUNY Brockport.
Ms. Castner loves hiking, kayaking and spending time at her son’s school sporting events.
